The 9th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of Bangladesh Women Chamber of Commerce & Industry (BWCCI) was held on Saturday (24 May 2014) at the Multipurpose Hall, Diploma Engineer’s Institute, Kakrail, Dhaka with the participation of members from across the country. Sangita Ahmed, President of BWCCI presided over meeting.
BWCCI’s Annual report, audit report and financial reports of 2013 were read out and approved by the house. BWCCI President said that 2013 was the year that BWCCI reached several milestones. She thanked all the members across the country for their continuous support and active participation in the chamber activities. She hoped that BWCCI members will run their business with more professionalism and confidence as well as will continue to contribute in the national economy.
Meeting proceedings being over, the new Board for 2014-16 was formed. Ms. Selima Ahmad, Vice Chairperson of Nitol-Niloy Group has been announced as the President of BWCCI for 2014-16. Other directors of the newly formed BWCCI Board are- Ms. Hasina Newaaz, Proprietor of Orchid Printers (Senior Vice President); Ms. Selina Quader, Propriteor of Agro Concern (Vice President); Ms. Fazwia Naaz, Proprietor of F. N. Intl (Treasurer); Ms. Farzana Chowdhury, Managing Director and CEO of Green Delta Insurance Co. Ltd; Ms. Gulshan Nasreen Chowdhury, Proprietor of Radiant Institute of Design; Ms. Soheli Akter Beg, Owner of Beg Steel Industries Ltd; Ms. Tania Wahab, Proprietor of Karigar; Ms. Tania Karim, Proprietor of NR Khan & Associates; Ms. Ridma Khan, Proprietor of Ambon Properties; Ms. Farkhunda Jabeen Khan, Proprietor of Maks Attires; Ms. Yasmeen Sadique, Owner of Dawn Grammar School Limited; Ms. Farjana Fatema Borna, Proprietor of Bornali and Ms. Monira Sultana, Proprietor of Apon Ghar.
The new BWCCI Board made a firm commitment to continue working for the development of women of Bangladesh.
