Former cabinet minister engineer LK Siddiqi passed away today in Singapore. LK Siddiqi, also the ex-deputy speaker of Bangladesh parliament, breathed his last around 11:00AM. He was 76.
LK Siddiqi was suffering from chronic lung disease for long time.

Holding that Bangladeshi author Taslima Nasreen has been hounded for her novel ‘Lajja’, Press Council of India chairperson Justice Markandey Katju today demanded that she be given a permanent visa to reside in India.
