Commenting about the overall preparation of the event, Russel T Ahmed, Convener of the Organizing Committee of Digital World 2015 said: “This year nearly 85 persons from various tech giants have agreed to join Digital World so far. The Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) will soon form a technical audit team aiming to detect revenue dodging by mobile phone operators and illegal Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) business, according to officials at the telecom regulator.

Bangladesh aims to boost tech exports to $ 1b by 2019
Bangladesh aims to quadruple its earnings from information, communication and technology (ICT) exports to $1 billion (664 million pounds) by 2019, Zunaid Ahmed Palak, the country’s junior minister for ICT, said on Sunday.
“Our export earnings from this sector was only $20 million in 2009 which is now more than $250 million,” Zunaid said in a training programme related to the sector.
The ministry with help from the World Bank will train 30,000 information technology professionals over the next three years to help achieve this target.

IT training for 30,000 youths from Saturday
The government will formally launch a training programme on Saturday, aiming to develop 30,000 IT professionals for the IT and ITES sectors within the next three years.
Ministers, vice chancellors, academicians, bureaucrats and IT industry leaders will be present at the launching ceremony to be held at Sonargaon hotel.
