Commerce Adviser meets Japan State Minister Ogushi

Ogushi Masaki, State Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry, received a courtesy call from H.E. Sk. Bashir Uddin, Adviser of the Ministry of Commerce of Bangladesh, and exchanged views on Japan-Bangladesh economic relations on Tuesday.

State Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Ogushi welcomed the visit of Mr. Sk. Bashir Uddin, Adviser of the Ministry of Commerce of Bangladesh.
During the meeting, both sides exchanged views on the business environment of Bangladesh for attracting more enterprises and investment, and confirmed their cooperation towards the early conclusion of negotiations for the economic partnership agreement (EPA). Additionally, with an eye on Bangladesh’s graduation from least developed country (LDC) status, both sides agreed to promote cooperation for the industrial upgrading and diversification of the country. Both sides have agreed to make arrangements with the aim of holding the first meeting of the Bangladesh-Japan Industry Upgradation Partnership (BJIUP) by the end of 2025.
