The King of the Kingdom of the Netherlands Willem Alexander has highly appreciated Bangladesh’s capacity in dealing with natural disaster, especially cyclone.
The King said the achievement and success in handling natural disaster are role model for the entire world.
He made the remark while talking to Bangladesh Ambassador to the Netherlands, Sheikh Mohammed Belal at a reception marking the New Year 2015 held at the King’s Palace in Amsterdam on Wednesday, according to a message received here on Thursday.
The King also appreciated the steps taken by the Bangladesh administration before and after various natural disasters, to be taken as role model for many countries.
Willem Alexander inquired about Dutch-supported programme ‘Delta 2100’ and shown special interest about it.
The Ambassador briefed the King on Bangladesh’s socioeconomic development including government’s priority projects like Blue Economy and Delta 2100.
At the same programme, newly appointed Netherlands Foreign Minister Bert Koenders appreciated Bangladesh’s role in establishing world peace.
