HSBC Bank Bangladesh signed an agreement with WaterAid Bangladesh today to ensure safe drinking water in remote areas of Bandarban. HSBC CEO Francois De Maricourt and WaterAid Bangladesh Country Representative Dr. Khairul Islam 
signed the agreement today, 13 April 2015 at HSBC Management office, Gulshan.
Under this agreement WaterAid will be constructing a new Gravity Flow System (GFS) and renovate another GFS at Thanchi Upazila of Bandarban benefitting hundreds of marginalised ethnic people suffering from acute water crisis. High officials from both the organisations were present in the occasion.
HSBC Water Programme has already given a grantof USD 31 Lakh to WaterAid to ensure safe water and sanitation for the people of north-eastern and north-western Bangladesh. WaterAid Bangladesh is implementing this project. Another grant from HSBC Bangladesh worth USD 8.3 Lakh is under process.
