The 285th branch of Islami Bank Bangladesh Ltd (IBBL) was inaugurated at Anwara, Chittagong on Saturday. Engr.Md. Eskander Ali Khan, Chairman, Executive Committee of the bank inaugurated the branch as chief guest.
IBBL managing director Mohammad Abdul Mannan presided over the inaugural function addressed by Mohammad Munirul Mowla, Executive Vice President and Head of Chittagong South Zone, Momena Akhter, Panel Chairman, Boro Uthan Union Parishad, S.M Nawab Ali, Chairman, Boirag Union Parishad, Anwara, Md. Yeasin Hiru, Chairman, Chaturi Union Parishad, Anwara,Professor Pradip Roy of AO Chowdhury Degree College, Prokiti Ranjan Datta, District Commissioner, Bangladesh Scout, Chittagong Professor Mahmudul Hasan, Eminent Educationist, and Mowlana Abul Hossain, Khateeb, Kapka Housing Jam’e Masjid. Mohammad Emdadul Hoque, Head of Anwara Branch voted thanks in the function, says a press release.
Engr.Md. Eskander Ali Khan said, Islami Bank wants to reduce unemployment by creating new entrepreneurs and assisting them for strengthening the economy of the country.
He said that Islami Bank deals in commodity addressing the basic need of all people and also export oriented and import substitute. ‘IBBL is a bank of all people and working for development of the country through participation of all’ he added.
Mohammad Abdul Mannan said, Islami Bank is a need based bank not greed based and working for upliftment of deprived people. He also said that IBBL is working to minimize the gap between the rich and the poor, urban and rural by ensuring distributive justice of wealth in the financial sector.
He said IBBL tries to invest the money at the area from where the deposit is collected.
