IBFB holds day-long training on VAT

In pursuit of its research and advocacy works for awareness, excellence and capacity development for the private sector, IBFB has now taken a step forward to impart knowledge by introducing Entrepreneurship Development Training for ensuring smooth operation of respective businesses of the entrepreneurs of Bangladesh.

image001 As a start, IBFB organized a day-long Training Course on “VAT on Product, Procurement, Service and VAT at source in Bangladesh” on Saturday, 16 August 2014 at its Banani Office, Dhaka. Mr. Md. Lutfor Rahman, Commissioner (Customs & VAT) facilitated the training as the key resource person. Mr. Hedayetullah Al Mamoon, ndc, Senior Secretary, Ministry of Commerce, Govt. of Bangladesh distributed the certificates among the trainees.

The Commerce Secretary Mr. Hedayetullah Al Mamoon, ndc, in his speech as the Chief Guest in post-training Certificate Awarding Session, boldly thanked IBFB leadership for taking such an important training initiative which would play a vital role in enhancing capacity of the private entrepreneurs for successfully runner their businesses. He hoped IBFB would continue this endeavor in future.

Mr. Mahmudul Islam Chowdhury, Founding President of IBFB said in his closing remarks that this day-long training is just a start for IBFB. He informed that IBFB will regularly organize such training programs on various issues necessary for capacity development of the entrepreneurs. He also informed that IBFB is working to formally establish a separate training institute to be named as IBFB Institute for Entrepreneurship Development in Dhaka under which extensive training, in addition to the existing entrepreneurs, will be provided in Dhaka, Chittagong and other economically important cities to create new entrepreneurs enlightened with advanced and practical knowledge on entrepreneurship.

Among others from the organizers, Mr. Md. Omar Shafayat Kausar, Vice President, Md. Abdus Salam, Executive Director of IBFB etc. were also present in the certificate awarding session. The companies participated in IBFB’s training program are Runner Group of Companies, Khan Bahadur Group, Elite Group of Industries, Abdul Monem Ltd., Gulshan Club Ltd., Remex Corporation Ltd., Sajeeb Corporation, Mahtab Corporation, Aysha Memorial Specialized Hospital, Magnum Engineering & Construction Ltd., Organic Autos, Palal Group Ltd., Novo Cargo Services Ltd. and Imam Network Ltd.
