The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, UK recently in Rome, Italy to enhance existing good relations and cooperation between the two institutes for accelerating development of accountancy profession.
Emphasized on mutual cooperation between the institutes, ICAB President Showkat Hossain FCA and ICAEW Chief Executive Officer Michael D M Izza on behalf of their respective Institutes signed the MoU mainly in addition to the procedures of mutual membership, exemptions and examination, practicing and auditing rights and development of a roadmap towards future collaboration and additional support.
Apart from signing MoU, ICAB delegates headed by its President also joined different meetings and programs of International Federation of Accountants (IFAC), Confederation of Asian and Pacific Accountants (CAPA) and World Congress of Accountants during their visit in Rome. The delegates also attended meetings with the President and CEO of CPA Ireland and ACCA team.
It is noted that earlier, ICAB signed MoU with ICAEW, UK in 2009 and since then ICAB is the learning and professional development partner of ICAEW. ICAB will continue to maintain its qualification and update its curriculum and learning materials in collaboration with ICAEW.
ICAB Vice President Dewan Nurul Islam FCA , Council Member and Past Presidents Anwaruddin Chowdhury FCA, Mohammed Humayun Kabir FCA, Md. Syful Islam FCA, Md Abdus Salam FCA, Akhtar Sohel Kasem FCA and Technical Director Mahbub Ahmed Siddique FCA were the delegates from ICAB.
