Indian NRL signs MoU with BPC for pipeline

Numaligarh Refinery Ltd (NRL) today signed an agreement (MoU) with Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation for export of products through the proposed Indo-Bangladesh pipeline.

BPC logoThe MoU provides for export of petroleum products from NRL’s marketing terminal in Siliguri to Bangladesh Petroleum’s depot at Parbatipur in Bangladesh through the proposed ‘Indo-Bangla Friendship Pipeline (IBFPL)’ of 130 km length and capacity of one MMTPA, an NRL release said here.

The pipeline would be implemented through a joint venture company formed by NRL and Bangladesh Petroleum.

The MoU was signed by NRL’s General Manager (Marketing and Business Development) Bruno Ekka and General Manager (Planning and Development), BPC, Mustafa Qudrat-I-Elahi, at Dhaka today.

Bangladesh Energy and Mineral Resources Division secretary Abubakar Siddique, officials from Indian High Commission in Bangladesh, NRL Managing Director P Padmanabhan, chairman Bangladesh Petroleum A M Badrudduja and other senior officials from NRL and BPC were present on the occasion, the release added.
