Mamata writes to Modi on Teesta deal

The West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has written to the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi about settling Teesta and LBA issues with Bangladesh

Assuring of her cooperation with central government.

Modi_MomotaKolkata’s Ananda Bazar Potrika reported that Mamata wrote to Modi saying she was not against the Teesta deal with Bangladesh.

Mamata has also sought an early meeting with Modi.

In a letter written after her recent Dhaka visit, Mamata described the outcome of her trip as “positive.”

Indian media also reported that Mamata is likely to meet Modi on March 10 – her first meeting with the prime minister – and is expected to discuss on economic issues concerning her state and Bangladesh-India relations.

Indian Foreign Secretary S Jaishankar, during his just concluded visit in Bangladesh, handed over a letter to the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina from the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. In the letter, PM Modi expressed his willingness to visit Bangladesh soon.
