Metropolis FIDE Rating Chess Tournament -2021, Below 2100 Rating, Zone-1

Md Abzid Rahman became champion in the Metropolis FIDE Rating Chess Tournament -2021, Below-2100 Rating, Zone-1 held at the lounge of Shaheed Sheikh Kamal Auditorium of  NSC Tower of the National Sports Council. Abzid earned 7½ points to clinch the title. CM Md. Shawket Bin Osman Shaon became runner-up with the same points. Abzid and cM Shaon both earned the same points after the last round and Abzid became champion and CM Shaon became runner-up. Three players earned 7 points each, their positions are: 3rd– CM Mahtabuddin Ahmed, 4th-Md Masum Hossain, 5th-Mihir Lal  Das and 6th– Md Siddiuq Rahman.

Eight players earned 6½ points each. In the tie-breaking system among them 3 players became 7th to 9th position and qualified in the National ‘B’ Chess Championship. They are: Abdul Momin, CM Ikramul; Haq Siam and FM Mohammad Javed. Another 5 players became 10th to 14th . They are: Marzouq chowdhury, CM Manon Reja Neer, WCM Ahmed Walijah, Ushaching  Kheyang and Jabed Al Azad. 9th or last round games were held today (Saturday). In last round: Abzid drew with
Mihir, CM Shaon beat Din Mohammad, CM Mahtab drew with Masum, CM Siam drew with FM Javed, Siddique beat M m Zahirul Islam, CM Neer beat Md. Nasim Hossain Bhuiyan, Jabed beat Md Masud Rana, Momin beat Abdullah Al Raison, WCM Walijah beat Khondakar Nazre Mowla, Ushaching beat Nurul Islam Emon and Marzouq beat Neloy Debnath. The event was held in a 9 round Swiss-League system and a total 123 players participated. Top 9 players will qualify to participate in the National ‘B’ Chess championship from this event.
