The National Birth Registration Day will be observed in the country on Thursday.
The theme of this year’s day is ‘Once born, once registered’.
The government has taken various programmes to mark the day. A discussion will be held at BIAM Auditorium in the capital at 3pm where deputy Speaker M Fazle Rabbi Miah will attend as the chief guest.
In his message, the President expressed the hope that the country’s people, being inspired by the spirit of great patriotism, will make the birth registration activities a success through providing right information for the interests of family, society and the state.
In her message, the Prime Minister hoped that the conscious civil society members will come forward alongside the government to foster the activities.
“Only with the combined efforts of all, we’ll be able to archive all the information regarding birth registration online by this year,” she added.
