NBP President to visit Bangladesh from tomorrow

The President of National Bank of Pakistan (NBP), Mr. Syed Ahmed Iqbal Ashraf will pay a visit to Bangladesh on a four days official tour starting from Wednesday (September, 24th 2014).

NBP PrsidentDuring his visit he will have a courtesy call to the honourable Governor of Bangladesh Bank and heads of other banks of Bangladesh. National Bank of Pakistan is the largest state owned commercial bank in Pakistan. On this auspicious moment we pledge to serve and proud to join the economic activities in the Brother Country Bangladesh.

Mr. Ashraf has rich experience of over 34 years in domestic and international banking. He is a Fellow of Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FACCA) from UK. His work experience spans three continents and he worked in the UK, USA and UAE for 19 years.

Before the President of NBP, he was MD/CEO of PAIR Investment Company Limited.He successfully established the largest DFI, a JV with China’s largest Policy Bank in Pakistan. During his tenure as the Deputy Managing Director & COO of Pak China Investment Company Ltd. he successfully appraised multiple projects.

He has served The Bank of Khyber as the Managing Director/CEO. He has also served as Country Head Investment Banking & Head of Financial Institutions for Societe Generale (SG), from1996 to 2002. Amongst his achievements at SG was the appointment as the Financial Advisor to Privatization Commission of Pakistan for the successful privatization of United Bank Limited.
