After passing unanimous resolution against India in the parliament, Pakistan has decided to move United Nations to condemn Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s statement in Bangladesh, reported Dawn newspaper.
During his visit to Bangladesh, PM Modi had said, “At a time during the liberation war when the ‘Mukti Jodhas’ of Bangladesh were shedding blood, Indian citizens too were fighting side by side with them and in a way helped realised the dream of Bangladesh.”
In a blunt attack on Pakistan, Modi had accused it of creating ‘nuisance’ and constantly troubling India by promoting terrorism.
In his address to Dhaka University, He said,”Pakistan aaye din (constantly) disturbs India, jo naako dum la deta hai (creates nuisance), terrorism ko badhawa (deta hai)…ki ghatnaayein ghatthi rehti hain (promotes terrorism and such incidents keep recurring),” Modi said
“We will move the UN,” said Sartaj Aziz while talking to media persons at the inaugural session of 10th meeting of Heads of University Grant Commission/Higher Education of South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (Saarc),” the report said.
Aziz also ruled out talks with India saying, “Dialogue with India would be of no use if it does not cover Kashmir and water issues.”
Earlier, Aziz had said,”Pakistan will take all possible steps to expose India’s role in the breakup of East Pakistan in 1971 and its threat to destabilise Pakistan through terrorism.”
Stating that Narendra Modi’s remarks in Bangladesh were aimed at fanning hatred, Sartaj Aziz had said that their government had already taken “strong notice” of Prime Minister Modi’s statement acknowledging India’s ‘intervention’ in events of 1971.
He had said, “Modi’s statement vindicates Pakistan’s stand over India’s present and past policies to destabilise it. It is regrettable that Modi chose Bangladesh for the statement which was aimed at fanning hatred against Pakistan in Bangladesh.
