Pubali Bank, others sign with BB on SME

Bangladesh Bank has recently signed an agreement with 32 commercial banks and financial institutions on a re-finance scheme for creation of new and young entrepreneurs.

Governor of Bangladesh Bank Dr. Atiur Rahman was present at the signing ceremony as a chief guest. Deputy Governor of Bangladesh Bank Md. Abul Quasem and President of Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) Mohammad Shahjahan Khan were present as special guests.

Bangladesh BankCottageMasum Patwary, General Manager of SME and Special Programmes Department of Bangladesh Bank presided over the signing ceremony. Helal Ahmed Chowdhury, Managing Director & CEO of Pubali Bank Limited and Masum Patwary, General Manager of SME and Special Programmes Department of Bangladesh Bank signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organizations.

The fund will be used for providing highest loan of Tk. 10 lakh without collateral and Tk. 25 lakh with collateral at 10% interest rate to a new entrepreneur aged 18 to 45 years who did not take any loan earlier.
