Robi Axiata Limited signed an MoU with Dhaka University regarding sponsorship of its E-Library today at the University’s VC Office.
Robi will sponsor the establishment of the e-Library located at the Faculty of Business Studies, University of Dhaka. Under the 15 years sponsorship agreement, Robi will develop and equip the e-library with PCs, accessories and WIFI facilities. The e-library, first of its kind at the university, will facilitate the students to access globally renowned university libraries. This facility will make accessing the library for the teachers and students a lot easier and thereby help in the academic research activities.
“We have been putting a lot of focus on bringing innovative solutions to the heart of Bangladesh in order to spark socio-economic development and taking this country towards greatness. Robi believes that today’s youth is the change engine to build a new Bangladesh. Such an e-Library is at par with developed first world economies, and we are excited about introducing similar solutions elsewhere in Bangladesh.” – Mahtab Uddin Ahmed, Chief Operational Officer of Robi stated upon signing of the MoU.
Giving his feeling on the occasion Professor Shibli Rubayat-Ul-Islam, Dean, Faculty of Business Studies, Dhaka University said “This world class library facility will certainly assist in improving the standard of research in the business faculty. It will also encourage teachers and students to take on more research activities which will ultimately improve the standard of education”.
He said, “Robis investment in higher education will take the nation further forward and will contribute to develop human resources of the country”.
Besides setting up the e-Library, Robi will also develop digital information boards in the premises of Business Studies Faculty of the university.
Robi will also renovate and maintain the Fountain ‘Bydda Nohor’ situated in front of the Business Studies faculty building.
