BD to buy electricity from Tripura at Tk 6.44 per unit

Bangladesh struck to a deal with India on Saturday over importing 100 megawatt electricity from the Palatana power plant in Tripura of India. PowerThe state minister for power, energy and mineral resources, Nasrul Hamid, in a meeting with Tripura’s power minister fixed the electricity price at US$ 0.8 per unit. The price stands at Tk 6.5 and Indian 5.5 rupees per unit. The power import is expected to start from February.
