Provosts of 11 out of 19 halls at Dhaka University have signed letters of commitment to ban student politics. This action follows a heightened movement by students advocating for quota reform.
The signatures were collected by students after a late-night initiative to remove leaders of the Chhatra League from the residential halls began on Wednesday. In the wake of this move, the rooms of several Chhatra League leaders were vandalized.

The second MCD intake for 2024 began at the UCB campus in Gulshan, Dhaka on June 23, 2024. The MCD program is the equivalent of the first year of a degree program at Monash University, meaning all successful UCB students are able to enter directly into the second year of their chosen Monash degrees.

International School Dhaka (ISD) had qualified for the Global Round of the prestigious World Scholar’s Cup after its students swept the board in the regional round in Dhaka. Six teams featuring students from Grades 8 to 10, ages 13 to 16, were tested across various academic disciplines.
The World Scholar Cup (WSC) is an annual global team academic program where more than 15,000 students from over 65 countries participate every year. The program creates opportunities for students to develop skills, including debating and communication, critical thinking, research, and collaboration. A study centre called IBA Mubarak Ali Case Centre (IBA MACC) has been launched with joint initiative of the Mubarak Ali Foundation and the Institute of Business Administration (IBA) at Dhaka University to create and highlight Bangladeshi business case studies for students locally and globally.
Its inauguration began with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the IBA campus on Friday afternoon, followed by a gala event at The Intercontinental Dhaka later in the evening, where luminaries from academia and industry gathered to honour this transformative endeavour.
