UN assures of recruiting more police from Bangladesh
In the wake of playing an appreciating role by Bangladesh’s peacekeepers in Darfur and Sudan in peacekeeping as well as protecting civilians, facilitating humanitarian aid and helping political process, the United Nations (UN) has assured of recruiting more police personnel from Bangladesh.
Assurance came at a recent meeting of African Union-United Nations (AU-UN) Special Representative for Head of African Union-United Nations Hybrid operation in Darfur (UNAMID) and Joint Chief Mediator Martin Ihoeghian Uhomoibhi with a visiting Bangladesh delegation led by senior secretary of home ministry Dr Mozammel Haque Khan.

Bangladesh, Nepal sign MoU to eliminate TBT
Bangladesh and Nepal today struck a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to eliminate the technical barrier to trade (TBT) to boost bilateral trade.
Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution (BSTI) and Nepal Bureau of Standards and Metrology inked the MoU at the end of two-day Commerce Secretary Level meeting at the secretariat.
Senior Commerce Secretary Hedayetullah Al Mamoon briefed the newsmen about the outcome of the third meeting, reports BSS.
He said another MoU was also signed between Bangladesh Trading Corporation and Public

IBBL MD receives Asian Banker Award
Mohammad Abdul Mannan, Managing Director of Islami Bank Bangladesh Limited received the Asian Banker CEO Leadership Achievement Award-2016.
