Students of Varendra University on Sunday blockaded the Dhaka-Rajshahi highway at the university main entrance at Talaimari for half an hour seeking the withdrawal of VAT on their tuition fee. A total of one crore and 30 lakh primary school students will get monthly stipend, Primary and Mass Education Minister Mostafizur Rahman said today. The proposal’s approval is now at a final stage, it is only a matter of time, the minister said at a press briefing at his ministry today.
