Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid on Tuesday said the government is going to form a teacher recruitment commission, aiming to curb irregularities in recruitment to non-government educational institutions.
“The government has already taken initiatives and is working to form the teacher recruitment commission,” the minister told reporters while emerging from the DCs Conference held at the Cabinet Room of the Cabinet Division at the Secretariat, reports UNB.
In the second session of the conference held with the Education Ministry and the Primary and Mass Education Ministry, the Deputy Commissioners alleged that non-government educational institutions do not get qualified teachers due to anomalies by school governing bodies during the recruitment process, the minister noted.
Nahid said he asked the DCs to solve the local problems of educational institutions locally and play an important role in ensuring quality education in their respective districts.
Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the three-day Deputy Commissioners’ Conference 2014 at the International Conference Centre of her office.
