Two more aircraft added to Biman fleet

Biman Bangladesh Airlines has added two more planes in its fleet. The two Dash 8-Q400 aircraft reached Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport from Egypt on Friday, according to a handout of the Civil Aviation Ministry.

After months of negotiation with the Egyptian Smart Aviation, Biman has finally bimanbeen able to acquire the two Dash 8-Q400s aircraft for five years under dry lease, as it has no small aircraft to carry passengers on domestic routes.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will officially inaugurate the long-awaited domestic flight expansion on Sunday.

Apart from increasing its flights on the existing domestic routes, Biman from Monday onwards will start flight operations between Dhaka and five more domestic destinations — Cox’s Bazar, Jessore, Rajshahi, Syedpur and Barisal.
