The sale of local TV brands has got momentum as they are coming up with different offers to attract consumers ahead of the FIFA world cup 2014, which will start on June 12.
Amid the local brands, top seller Walton, a brand of the Dhaka-based conglomerate R.B Group of Industries increased production and marketing of its televisions several times to meet the high demand of the consumers.
Emdadul Huq Sarker, head of marketing of RB Group, said, “The sale of Walton TVs has increased by 41 percent in May compared to that of the previous month.”
Walton has also increased their stock of televisions. Now Walton has a stock of 1,70,000 televisions, but it was 30,000 to 50,000 televisions at normal time, said Emdadul.
Walton head of marketing, Moudud Parvez Mamun, said they have set a target of selling some 70,000 televisions in the next 45 days.
