American International University – Bangladesh (AIUB) organized the annual AIUB Job Fair 2013 on Saturday on the AIUB Campus -1 & 5, Banani in the city.
Vice Chancellor of AIUB Dr CARMEN Z Lamagna inaugurated the fair at 10:00 AM which continued up-to 4:00PM.
The inauguration ceremony was also attended by AIUB Founder and Vice President (Student Affairs) Nadia Anwar Founder.
Nearly 60 renowned national and multinational companies including banks, IT solutions, mobile operators, networking solution providers, pharmaceuticals, leasing and finance companies, call centers, airlines, automobile companies, real-estate companies, job portals, agro-based companies, accessories and equipment companies and some FMCGs participated in the fair, says a press release.
AIUB Vice Chancellor also launched the AIUB Data Bank on the occasion. The Data Bank is a repository of financial and economic data about companies, listed on the country’s bourses. This Data Bank will be of tremendous help to the university students and Faculty, who can use the information for their research activities.
AIUB Job Fair is organized every year to create a platform for the AIUB Alumni and future graduates to facilitate their smooth entry into the corporate world.
This flagship event has been hosted by the Office of Placement and Alumni under the leadership and guidance of AIUB Founder and Vice President (HRD), Treasurer Dr Hasanul A Hasan, Founder and Vice President (Public Relations Int’l Affairs) Ishtiaque Abedin and Nadia Anwar, Founder and Vice President (Student Affairs).
Among others Dean (Business Administration) Prof Dr Charles C Villanueva, Registrar Prof MA Quaiyum, Director (Finance) Khandeker Sabbir Mohammad Kabir, Director (Placement and Alumni) R Tareque Moudud FCMA, Director (Student Affairs) Manzur H Khan, Departmental Heads, Teachers, other senior officials and students including Directors and representatives of the participating Companies were also present. The Vice Chancellor expressed her thanks and gratitude to the participating companies.
