Anti-Communal Poetry Festival kicks off in city

Ghashful, a media house organized Anti-Communal Poetry Festival on Monday (January 10, 2014) at the Conference Lounge of Press Club with versatile poet Syed Shamsul Haq in the Chair.

GhashfulThe program expressed deep sorrow at the demise of poet Fazal Shahabuddin and condoled the bereaved family of the deceased. Novelist Ata Sarker addressed the welcome speech. The program dedicated to Late Litterateur and Researcher Dr. Golam Kadir was anchored by Ibtida Farhat Tropa.

The speakers in the program said, the minority was one sided attacked at different moment in Bangladesh. It was happened sometime in the name of Vote, grabbing of wealth and in reaction of communal riot in India. The progressive force can play effective role to save the minority. The poetry is the main weapon protesting the communal violence. The poetry can nourish good intellect in public mind. Our poets have done this job.

Poet Syed Shamsul Haq, Mahbub Talukder, Rafiq Azad, Al Mozahidi, Rabiul Hussain, Asad Chowdhury, Habibullah Siraji, Kazi Rozi, Muhammad Nurul Huda, Mashuk Chowdhury, Sihab Sikder, Bimol Guho, Nasir Ahmed, Iqbal Aziz, Alamgir Reza Chowdhury, Jahangir Feroze, Sohrab Hasan, Hasan Hafiz, Dilara Hafiz, Alam Talukder, Golam Kibria Pinu, Kamal Chowdhury, Mofazzal Hossain, Dara Mahmood, Farid Kabir, Minar Monsur, Bilu Kabir, Selim Mahmood, Sarker Masud, Chanchal Ashraf, Sheli Naz, Sakhawat Tipu, Junan Nashit and Ranju Raim recited own composed poetries in the program.
