Anti-drug rally at SEU

Southeast University (SEU) and its nine student’s clubs organized an anti-drug rally on Saturday at Kamal Ataturk Avenue in the capital to mark the International Day against Drug and Illicit Trafficking.

Teachers, students and officials of SEU attended this rally spontaneously. Vice Chancellor of SEU Professor Anwar Hossain inaugurated the rally. Among others, Pro Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Md. Humayun Kabir Chowdhury, Registrar Maj Gen Kazi Fakhruddin Ahmed, psc (Retd), Deans of different schools, Chairs of different departments and Coordinators of different clubs were present at the rally.

Starting from SEU Office at Banani, the rally rounded the city’s important streets and later ended at its starting point. Members of SEU Debating Club, Games and Sports Club, Culture and Movie Club, Art and Photography Club, Social Welfare Club, Business Club, Law and Ethics Club, Language Club and Science Club attended this rally.

This is to be mentioned that the slogan for the anti-drug day this year is set by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) as “Let’s develop our lives, our communities, our identities, without drugs”.
