Pubali Bank PLC's 2nd Business Conference-2024 of Regional and Corporate Branch Managers held at the auditorium of Head Office today. Monzurur Rahman, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Pubali Bank Ltd. was the Chief Guest at the conference with the participation of all Regional Managers, Corporate Branch Managers and Division Heads and Executives. Directors- Moniruddin Ahmed, Azizur Rahman & Mustafa Ahmed; Independent Director Mohammad Naushad Ali Chowdhury were present as Special Guests. Chief justice resigns
Chief Justice Obaidul Hasan has resigned from his position, said law advisor Asif Nazrul. Chief Justice Obaidul Hasan said, “I informed him (law advisor) that I have taken a decision on principle to step down and I hope all formalities will be completed by today.”

Blinken welcomes Yunus-led interim government
US Secretary of State Antony Blinken has welcomed the interim government in Bangladesh led by Nobel Laureate Professor Dr Muhammad Yunus.
"I welcome the swearing in of Dr Muhammad Yunus to lead the interim government in Bangladesh," Blinken wrote on his social media handle X on Saturday (Bangladesh time).
He said Washington remains committed to working with Bangladesh as it charts a democratic and prosperous future of the people in Bangladesh.

Yunus offers munajat at Sayed’s grave
Interim government’s Chief Adviser Nobel Laureate Professor Dr Muhammad Yunus today visited the house of Shaheed Abu Sayed, a student of Begum Rokeya University in Rangpur (BRUR)killed in police firing during the student's quota reform movement, to console his parents.
Dr Yunus also offered ziarat at Sayed's grave and talked to his family members for some times after he arrived in Babanpur village of Pirganj upazila this morning.
He handed over national flag to Sayed's parents and family members as well.

Iran has sent small shipments of crude oil to new destinations such as Bangladesh and Oman, according to shipping sources and data, the latest sign of Tehran pushing to sustain output at close to its highest in five years.
