A total of 1,837 Bangladesh Police member including 191 women are working in the United Nations Peacekeeping Mission across the world.

Under Secretary General of the UN Amira Haq said this while speaking at a workshop titled 'UN police for 2020' held at Double Tree Metropolitan Hotel on Friday.
"The current number of UN police member has increased to 13,000 from 1,600," she said and laid importance on security and safety good police structure in the workshop.

Most United States retailers, who sold garments manufactured in devastated Bangladesh's RanaPlaza factory and Tazreen factory, have refused to join an effort to compensate the families of more than 1,200 workers who died in the factory fire.

None of the American companies, neither Walmart, Sears, Children's Place, nor any other company has agreed to contribute to the efforts of creating compensation funds for the victims' families, even after one year of the incident, the New York Times reports.

The House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus ratified agreements on the avoidance of double taxation and the prevention of fiscal evasion with respect to taxes on income with Bangladesh and Laos on Friday.
The agreement with Bangladesh envisages lower tax rates on dividends (from 12 per cent to 10 per cent if the share of an investor in the capital is more than 10 per cent), on interests from 10 per cent to 7.5 per cent, on royalties from 15 per cent to 10 per cent.
The agreement with Laos establishes lower tax rates: on dividends (reduction from 12 per cent to 5 per cent if the share of an investor in the capital is more than 20 per cent, to 10 per cent in other cases), on interests from 10 per cent to 8 per cent, on royalties from 15 per cent to 10 per cent.
