A short film namely ‘Katus Kutus’, directed by Shuvasis Roy, was shown at Kazi Nazrul Islam auditorium of Rajshahi University on Sunday and Monday.
The 70 minutes long film was shown at the auditorium three times each day. Rajshahi University-based film organization Dakghor with the help of ‘Somosangit Sanskrity Prangon’ arranged the show.
‘The earned money from this movie would be spent for street children’, said Dakghor president Ashikur Rahman Rumel.
The short film followed a story of boy and girl who were the victim of different inconsistencies of the society.
The film began with scene Kutus waiting on street for Katus where she faced disturbing by some boys. To get release from disturbing, she went to a tea stall where an old man also blamed her asking why she did not use curtain.
Later, the film followed by their sweet-love story. But their sweet love story had been ruined when they were attacked by a gang of snatchers. The snatchers beat up Katus and looted things from them. They also threatened them and demanded TK. 2 lakh. Then Katus asked one of his friends to bring the money anyhow. In the meantime, sensing the presence of police the snatcher flew away.
The police also harassed them asking various obscene questions and took money from them. Police also threatened Katus to get involved in various cases. At last the police left them to get a phone call where the caller asking him to clear the road for a VIP person.
The film ended by a helpless picture of Katus and Kutus and realizing various inconsistencies of society.
