RU BCL demands ban withdrawal of leaders

Leaders and activists of Bangladesh Chatra League (BCL), Rajshahi University (RU) unit formed a human chain on campus demanding withdrawal of restriction order of their three leaders who beat up RU Chief Engineer.

On Wednesday at 12pm, in front of Rajshahi University central library, BSL leaders and activists formed a human chain demanding over immediate cancellation of trio BSL leaders of the university unit while acting president of BSL Rajshahi University unit Rashidul Islam Ranju, organizing secretary Faisal Ahmed, student’s scholarship affairs secretary Tagor Mohammad ruSaleh, general secretary of Muktijudho Santan command RU unit Habibur Rahman and VSL general secretary of BSL Rajshahi University Unit Khalid Hasan Biplob addressed at the human chain, among others.

Earlier 28 August 2014, trio BCL leaders beat up chief engineer of Rajshahi University Shirajum Munir and two others stuff. The trio leaders were then general secretary and student of Finance and banking dept. Tauhid Al Tuhin, vice president and student of fisheries dept. Tonmoy Anondo Ovi, Habibur Rahman Hall unit president and student of fisheries dept. Mamunur Rashid. On the following day, central BCL suspended Tuhin.

Later on, vice chancellor Prof. Muhammad Mizanuddin permanently expelled trio BCL leaders with his special power.

Addressing the human chain, they said that the University authority didn’t take any legal step against Islami Chatro Shibir activist for killing BCL leader Faruk, Prof. S Taher and many more. But University authority punished the trio leaders for lower fault, though they sought forgiveness. They also added that for a lower fault authority can’t ruin their student lives.

They also demanded withdrawing the cancellation of studentship order and returning their studentships.
