Azim Group Global Steel launched

Azim Group, a multi-national garments holding company based in Bangladesh, recently has launched an enterprise- ‘Global Steel and Engineering Limited’ at Shailabil, Paruhala, Dhamrai, Dhaka. With the launch of the enterprise, Azim group sets its footprint into the steel industry.

Azim Group is one of the pioneers in garments industry of Bangladesh. It has been exporting readymade garments to various markets of the world including USA, Europe, South America, Russia, Japan, China and Australia.

AMI_6898To step into another emerging industry of Bangladesh, it has launched its concerned enterprise- ‘Global Steel and Engineering Limited’. Global Steel and Engineering Limited has already started fabrication, manufacturing and galvanization of transmission tower and line hardware materials. Besides this, the vision of GSEL is to expand and manufacture other steel products such as automobiles for export.

Dr. Tawfiq-e-Elahi Chowdhury, Adviser to the Hon’ble Prime Minister, Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Affairs was present as the Chief Guest and Mr. Md. Safiul Islam was present there as a Special Guest in the inauguration ceremony. Moreover, Mr. Masum-Al-Beruni, Managing Director of Power Grid Company of Bangladesh Limited; Mahammad Fazlul Azim, Chairman, Azim Group and other high officials were also present at the ceremony.

Mohammad Fazlul Azim, Chairman, Azim Group said in this regard, “Azim Group has started in 1975 as a one-man band, and now created over 28,000 jobs. We are a pioneer in the garments industry which today is employing over 4.5 million people. Having established our humble success in the garments sector, we are today embarking in a new journey to bring a new dimension in the steel industry of Bangladesh. With an investment of over BDT 250 crore and with the intention of creating another at least 1000 jobs, we have started our steel journey with Global Steel and Engineering Limited: a transmission tower and line hardware fabrication, manufacturing and galvanizing factory. The way we have created a mark in the garment sector of Bangladesh, we aspire to do the same in the steel industry of the country.”
