Bangladeshi expats observe Victory Day in Oman

Bangladesh School Muscat (BSM) celebrated the 43rd Anniversary of Victory Day of Bangladesh on Friday.

On this occasion, a ceremony was organised that included an award giving function and a cultural extravaganza.

omanHis Highness Sayed Mohammed Salim Ali Al Said, Chief of Protocol, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, was the chief guest.

He gave away the awards to the students of BSM for outstanding performances in different fields of education and extracurricular activities.

Sekander Ali, the ambassador of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, paid homage to the Father of the Nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and prayed to the Almighty Allah for his and all martyred freedom fighters’ eternal peace and wellbeing of those who are surviving. He also praised His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said’s vision and prayed for his good heath and quick return to his homeland.

Academic awards were given to the top three students of all classes. The first position was honoured with gold, second with a silver and the third position with a bronze medal. Besides this, essay writing, hand writing, art competition and sports awards were also given. Ambassador’s Excellence Awards and Outstanding Academic Excellence Awards were also presented.
