The 20th annual general meeting (AGM) of Bangladesh Foreign Exchange Dealers’ Association (BAFEDA) for the year 2013 was held on Tuesday.
Chairman of BAFEDA and CEO and Managing Director of Janata Bank Ltd, SM. Aminur Rahman presided over the meeting attended by the chief executives/ executives of 45 member banks of BAFEDA and executives of different banks.
The meeting reviewed the over-all situation of inter-bank foreign exchange market and noted with satisfaction that a stable and orderly situation prevailed in the inter-bank foreign exchange market.
The meeting requested all member banks of BAFEDA to make payment of all matured and accepted inland export bills shortly in line with the decision of the recent Bankers’ meeting in Bangladesh Bank and instruction of the Bangladesh Bank Governor. It was also informed in the meeting that for disposal of disputed bills the banks will refer those to the Arbitration Committee of BAFEDA.
