BRU seminar on higher education in US

Begum Rokeya University (BRU) held a seminar on outdoor activities and higher education opportunities in the United States and various types of scholarships organized by the American Embassy in Berobi on Tuesday morning. University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. was present as the chief guest at the seminar. Md. Hasibur Rashid.

Speaking as the chief guest, the Vice-Chancellor said that the seminar would play a vital role in creating opportunities for study in reputed institutions of higher learning in America. Professor Dr Md. Hasibur Rashid said if the country’s higher education can be taken to the desired place, it will be easier to build a better Bangladesh and tackle the challenges of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

Khadija Mahmud, Cultural Affairs Officer at the American Embassy in Dhaka, Raihana Sultana, Education and Academic Exchange Program Specialist, Shaun Karmakar, English Language Program Coordinator, and Education USA Student Adv. Q. M Mushfiqur Hasan gave a detailed account of higher education opportunities in the United States.

At the seminar, Bangladeshi students and young professionals have the opportunity to study for scholarships in the Masters’s program at various American universities at no cost, they said. Under the Fulbright Foreign Student Program, undergraduate students and young professionals will have the opportunity to pursue postgraduate degrees at US universities completely free of charge.

Sabbir Ahmed Chowdhury, Director of BRU Outdoor Activities, thanked the US Embassy officials for their cooperation and participation in the seminar in the field of higher education. Teachers and students from different departments were present at the two seminars on higher education
