CA Yunus commends Anjuman’s silent service to society

Chief Adviser Professor Dr Muhammad Yunus has praised Anjuman Mufidul Islam for its longstanding service as an institution, highlighting its tireless efforts in burying unclaimed bodies and caring for orphaned children.

“I am not sure if a similar institution exists elsewhere in the subcontinent. Anjuman operates as a historically significant and unique organisation,” he remarked.

Emphasising the significance of Anjuman Mufidul Islam’s mission, the Chief Adviser noted that the organisation silently waits to recover unclaimed bodies, carrying out its work without seeking publicity or recognition.

He made these comments while attending a doa and iftar gathering hosted by Anjuman Mufidul Islam at its Kakrail office today. During the event, the Chief Adviser also inaugurated ‘Anjuman JR Tower’, a newly constructed building for the charitable organisation, and shared iftar with orphans.

Addressing the attendees, Professor Yunus acknowledged that, regardless of how remote or challenging the circumstances may be, Anjuman Mufidul Islam consistently retrieves and arranges the burial of unclaimed bodies across the country.

“In particular, during the COVID-19 pandemic, the organisation’s name repeatedly emerged for its dedicated service,” he added.

He further stated that the name of Anjuman Mufidul Islam is deeply intertwined with the history of Bangladesh and the Muslim community, describing it as “a long-established institution in our society.”

Professor Yunus expressed his privilege in witnessing Anjuman Mufidul Islam’s humanitarian efforts firsthand. However, he also stressed the need to build a society where nobody remains unclaimed.

“While burials are important, our ultimate goal should be to ensure that no one’s body is left unclaimed in this country,” he said.

Calling on people to address societal shortcomings, he urged, “Let us eliminate these flaws. Everyone must contribute sincerely from their respective positions for the betterment of society.”

The Chief Adviser also extended his gratitude to those who have dedicated their time, effort, and resources to serving Anjuman Mufidul Islam for many years. He expressed his hope that the organisation’s activities would continue to expand in various directions.

The event was attended by Advisers Dr Salehuddin Ahmed and Ali Imam Majumder, along with Anjuman Mufidul Islam President Mufleh R Osmany and Vice-President Ghulam Rahman.
