Canada proposes investment in infrastructure, education

Canada-Bangladesh Incorporated, has proposed Canadian investment in Bangladesh infrastructure including education.

Canada-BDA six-member Canadian delegation met Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu, MP, at his Secretariat office and made the proposal.

Ontario-based Lambton College and Canadian Educational Institute of

Technology (CEIT) proposed to set up campuses in Bangladesh.

Dean of International Education Christopher T R Slade and CEIT’s president, Michael Vourakes, made the proposals on behalf of their respective institutions.

The information minister appreciated the initiative and said that if it is materialized then it would improve the relations between the two countries even more. The delegation lauded Bangladesh’s progress in all sectors despite many obstacles.

Alimur Rahman Haider, president of Canada-Bangladesh Incorporated and others were present at the meeting.
