Interim govt to take oath Thursday night: Army chief
Army Chief General Waker-Uz-Zaman said on Wednesday that the interim government, headed by Nobel Laureate Prof Muhammad Yunus, will take oath on Thursday night.
He said the size of the government has not been finalized yet, initially some 15 individuals may take oath as the advisers of the interim government. However, one or two more individuals may be added.
General Waker told this at a press conference at the army headquarters in the capital on Wednesday afternoon.

6 prisoners shot dead, 209 escape from Kashimpur jail
As many as 209 inmates have reportedly escaped from Kashimpur Central Jail in Gazipur.
The escape attempt resulted in deaths of six inmates, who were shot by security personnel.
Senior Jail Superintendent Subrata Kumar Bala confirmed the incident on Wednesday afternoon, adding, "The incident took place on Tuesday afternoon, when inmates inside the high-security central prison staged a rebellion."

Newly appointed Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Md Mainul Hasan joined office today.

Nobel Laureate Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus will serve as the head of the interim government.
This decision was taken in a meeting of President Mohammed Shahabuddin with chiefs of the three services and the coordinators of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement to finalize the outline of the interim government at Bangabhaban tonight.
Later, President's Press Secretary Md. Joynal Abedin told the BSS that the Head of State Shahabuddin gave coscent to the proposal of the meeting.
