M Mainul Islam has been appointed as the Inspector General of Police (IGP) of Bangladesh Police.
Earlier, he was commandant of traffic and driving school, Dhaka as the Additional IGP.
With an order of President Mohammed Shahabuddin, a gazette notification in this regard has been issued from the Public Security Division of the Ministry of Home Affairs on Tuesday night.

The Inter Services Public Relation Directorate (ISPR) on Wednesday urged all not to be misguided by rumours being spread through social media over an incident at Savar’s Ashulia.
