SMEs’ contribution to industrial employment over 80pc

More than 98 percent of the total business enterprises in Bangladesh are SMEs and their contribution is 80 to 85 percent in the country’s industrial employment, according to a research. According to the research, among the SME enterprises, over 84 percent SMEs are located in villages while more than 80 percent are cottage industries, reports BSS. New banknote of Tk 10

Bangladesh Bank (BB) today released new banknote of Taka 10 incorporating advanced security features of the currency with an aim to prevent fake notes. Now, the new banknotes are available at the head office of Bangladesh Bank in Motijheel area of the capital, reports BSS. Other branches of the central bank would gradually issue the new banknotes. The measurement of the new banknote is 123 X 60 millimetres and it contains the portrait of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

Tk 5,906cr project to repair rural infrastructures

The government today approved a Taka 5,905.59-crore project to conserve the rural road network system by rehabilitating the roads, bridges and culverts affected due to cyclone Amphan, excessive rain and the recent flood.
