Attorney General dies of COVID-19

Attorney general Mahbubey Alam died of COVID-19 at the Combined Military Hospital in the capital Sunday evening.

He was 71. Mahbubey Alam’s son Sumon Mahbub confirmed that his father died at about 7:30pm. He is survived by his wife, a son and a daughter, four grandchildren and many well-wishers to mourn his death. Mahbubey Alam was on life support after he had been shifted to the intensive care unit of the CMH on September 18. Freedom Fighter Dr. Ali’s Death Anniversary

Tomorrow August 22, 2020, is the 32nd death anniversary of freedom fighter Dr. Syed Anwar Ali, the first organizer of Shawdin Bangla Betar Kendra at Kalurghat, Chittagong.  

This physician freedom fighter went to Agrabad Radio office on March 26, 1971 in a self driven pickup carrying his relatives, Chittagong Radio Announcer Kazi Hosneara, Electrical Engineers Ashiqul Islam and Dilip Chandra Das to broadcast "Bangabandhu's Declaration of Independence". They found the Agrabad radio station is closed and then he went to high radio official’s house, they refused to cooperate to open radio. Dr. Syed Anwar started moving to Kalurghat radio broadcasting center.
