Ovi’s 12th Death Anniversary today

Today (10-04-2019) is the 12th death anniversary of Tanzer Fahim Jumma (Ovi), eldest son of Mr Sajjatuz Jumma, founder Chairman of Shahjalal Islami Bank Limited and Former Senior Vice President of DCCI, who passed away in Fort Lauderdale, the USA in April 2010. He was 29 years old. Late Ovi, who obtained degrees in Management and Marketing from a US University, was employed in an investment company as a senior executive. He is the grandson of late national leader AHM Quamaruzzaman who was one of the organizers of the Liberation War.

Shafiuddin Ahmed made new army chief

Lieutenant General S M Shafiuddin Ahmed, quarter master general of the Bangladesh Army, has been named as the new chief of the Bangladesh Army for the next three years, reports BSS. “Bangladesh Army’s BA-2496 Lieutenant General S M Shafiuddin Ahmed, OSP, NDU, PSC, Quarter Master General has been appointed as the new chief of Bangladesh Army from June 24 afternoon,” a defence ministry statement said. He will also be promoted to the rank of general on that day, the gazette, signed by deputy secretary, Wahida Sultana, added. He will replace current army chief General Aziz Ahmed.
