147 died in quota reform movement, says Home boss

"A total of 147 deaths have so far been reported, and police members, Awami League leaders and activists, students, and people of different professions were among the deceased,” said Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan on Sunday while talking to reporters at the secretariat. A further search is underway to determine the death toll, reports a news agency. The police are working to determine how many women, men, and people of different professions were among the dead, said the minister. The students' protests demanding reform in the government's job quota began on July 1. Mobile internet likely to be restored by July 29: Palak

Staff Reporter: State Minister for Posts, Telecommunications and ICT Zunaid Ahmed Palak said that mobile internet services will be restored by July 29. But access to social media sites, including Facebook, will be restricted. He briefs the media at the BTRC building in Agargaon on Wednesday. Palak said that the government has been working to restore the internet services as quickly as possible. “By tonight, full broadband internet services will be available at homes," he added.
