Documentary on Independence War by India, Bangladesh
India and Bangladesh will jointly produce a documentary on the 1971 War of Independence of Bangladesh, the Information and Broadcasting ministry said on Wednesday.
India will also facilitate the production of a “mega movie” by Bangladesh to mark the 100th birth anniversary of its Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in 2020.
In a meeting between Information and Broadcasting Minister M Venkaiah Naidu and Bangladesh Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu, India also informed that All India Radio would be launching an exclusive service for Bangladesh and Bengali diaspora titled “Akashvani Maitree” on 23 August.

A delegation of COTTON USA representing the cotton industry and National Cotton Council of USA visited Bangladesh to meet and interact with Bangladesh textile and apparel industry. The delegation members were Mr. Keith Lucas- president of Cotton Council International (CCI) and leader of the delegation, Mr. Marc Lewkowitz- CEO and president of Supima, and Mr. Bruce Atherley- Executive Director of Cotton Council International.

ADB provides $ 275m loan to improve water supply
The government today signed $275 million loan agreement with the Asian Development Bank (ADB) for further improving and expanding water supply system in Dhaka.
Mohammad Mejbahuddin, Senior Secretary, Economic Relations Division (ERD), and Kazuhiko Higuchi, Country Director, Bangladesh Resident Mission of ADB, signed the agreement on behalf of Bangladesh and ADB respectively at a ceremony at ERD, Sher-e-Bangla Nagar, here, said a release.

2 int’l meetings switched from Bangladesh after attack
An Asia-Pacific money laundering group has moved its meeting out of Bangladesh citing security concerns, officials said on Monday, 10 days after militants stormed a cafe in an upscale part of the capital and killed 20 people, mostly foreigners.
Some 350 foreign delegates had been expected in Dhaka to attend the July 24-28 annual meeting of The Asia Pacific Group on Money Laundering that seeks to pool efforts to fight illegal money transfers and terrorist financing.
The group said in a statement on its website that the meeting will now be held in September in the United States. The exact location will be decided later. It gave no reason.
