US offers counterterrorism expertise for Bangladesh

The United States on Sunday offered Bangladesh Washington’s expertise in building Bangladesh’s counterterrorism capabilities. Rail boom in Bangladesh

After decades of neglect and decline, the nation’s railway network, much of it dating back to British colonial times, is being updated under a $30 billion plan to renovate stations and workshops, buy new trains and lay thousands of kilometres of new track. The renewed enthusiasm for rail in one of Asia’s poorest nations is largely thanks to China, and its ambitious agenda to extend trade tentacles across Asia. Govt moves forward with Rooppur

Just days after the Bangladesh Atomic Energy Regulatory Authority (BAERA) issued the first site licence for the Rooppur nuclear power plant, the country’s cabinet has approved the draft of an intergovernmental agreement that will see Russia provide $11.38 billion in credit for the project.
