New body for Greater Mymensingh Council formed
The Greater Mymensingh Central Co-ordination Council (GMCCC) has held its 3rd annual conference at Shawkat Osman Auditorium in the capital recently. GMCCC formed its new committee for the year 2014-2016 in the conference.
Md. Abul Kalam Azad, Secretary to the office of the Prime Minister, Dr. Md. Nurul Alam Talukder, Managing Director of Bangladesh House Building Finance Corporation and Engr. Rashedul Hasan Shely have elected Chairman, Executive Chairman and General Secretary respectively for the new committee.

Women chamber holds meeting with State Minister Finance
A meeting was held between State Minister Finance MA Mannan and Board of Directors of Bangladesh Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BWCCI) to share about women entrepreneurship development related issues in Bangladesh.
The BWCCI team comprised of 7 members including Selima Ahmad, Founder of BWCCI and Sangita Ahmed, President of BWCCI along with other board directors, says a press release.

1,01,000 to perform hajj this year
A total of 1,01,000 people will perform hajj from Bangladesh this year.
Of them, 10,000 pilgrims will perform hajj under government management while the rest under private management, Hajj Agencies Association of Bangladesh (HAAB) president Md Ibrahim Bahar informed this at a press briefing at the National Press Club on Saturday.
He said an agreement was signed in this regard with the Saudi government in Saudi Arabia on February 16.

A resolution has been introduced in the US Congress to promote International Mother Language Day in the country.
US Representative Grace Meng of New York's 6th Congressional district made the move on Saturday to encourage the House of Representatives to support the goals and ideals of the day with appropriate ceremonies, programmes and activities.
