Bangladesh Bank (BB) Governor Atiur Rahman has been awarded the "Central Banker of the Year 2015" for the Asia-Pacific. The Banker, a magazine of the London-based Financial Times, announced the award on Monday.

Dr Atiur received the award for his extraordinary contribution to the country's economy, with maintaining stability, endeavoring inclusive banking, green banking and corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities.
The magazine also named the governors of the year for America, Europe, the Middle East and Africa regions.

The Bangladesh Bank has published the auction calendar of Treasury Bills and Bonds for the first quarter of 2015. The government is going to borrow Tk 40 billion from the banking sector in January 2015 through auction of treasury bills and bonds including Tk 38 billion from bills and Tk 2 billion from Bonds respectively.
