BWCCI demands women friendly cross border trade
Bangladesh Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BWCCI) organized a national seminar today in cooperation with The Asia Foundation and South Asia Women’s Entrepreneurship Symposium under the project “Promoting Women Entrepreneurship through Improving Regional Cooperation”.
The seminar was held with the presence of the Chief guest Foreign Minister Abul Hassan Mahmood Ali, MP, Abdul Matlub Ahmad, President of FBCCI as special guest, Hasan M Mazumdar, Country representative, The Asia Foundation as the guest of honor, Bijay Selvaraj, First Secretary, the Indian High Commission to Bangladesh, Aum Pema Choden, Ambassador of Bhutan Embassy Dhaka, Farah Farooq, Commercial Counselor, High Commission of Pakistan, Country Representative of UNHCR as distinguished guests.
India gains more than Bangladesh
Analysts and diplomats have remarked that Bangladesh's political leadership needs to enhance its negotiating skills in order to get the most out of the agreements and memoranda signed between the two countries. They pointed out that India remains in a more advantageous position in most of the agreements signed.
This was the view of diplomats, economists and people across the spectrum, after the signing of 22 agreements, protocols and MOUs between Bangladesh and India. Outside of these deals, several issues were discussed between the two countries, initiating talks on new matters.

Assam tea garden owners oppose deal with Bangladesh
The tea garden owners and the local people of the district have strongly opposed Prime Minister Narendra Modi signing the land swap deal with his Bangladesh counterpart Sheikh Hasina during his visit to the neighbouring country today.

WB to finance $ 476m for 2 projects
The World Bank (WB) has approved $476 million for two projects in Bangladesh to develop a strong financial sector and to improve agricultural productivity for a million poor farmers.
