‘Infoladies’: women who get villages connected

In rural Bangladesh, dozens of women on wheels are biking into remote villages and hooking up poverty-stricken families to the net. Thanks to ‘Infoladies’, tens of thousands of people are connecting with social media, chatting to loved ones, and getting government services. Indefinite strike called in garments factories

Tuba Group Sramik Sangram Committee has called an indefinite strike in the garment factories across the country starting Thursday.

The strike was called after the agitating workers were evicted from the factory at North Badda in the capital this afternoon. The law enforcers stormed the premises around 1:00 pm and  lobbed tear gas canisters and charged batons on the agitating  workers.
