Bangladeshi stabbed to death in the US

Kamal Uddin, 47, a Cab driver originally from Chittagong was found dead on a street in Connecticut, USA. 11Police said the taxi driver had been stabbed in the stomach and chest 15 to 16 times. The cab he drove was found abandoned next to his body. Police suspect muggers posing as passengers may have killed him. Kamal Uddin lived with his wife and only child.

Remains of Bangladesh workers to be flown back today

The remains of the three Bangladesh nationals, who died when an MRT concrete span fell on them on Monday, will be flown back to their home country today. “MRT Corp and Syarikat Muhib­bah Perniagaan dan Pembinaan Sdn Bhd (SMPP), the contractor for Package VI where the incident oc­­curred, are liaising closely with the Bangladesh High Commission to make the ne­cessary arrangements for the repatriation of the remains,” MRT Corp said in a statement. “Family members of the victims have been informed of the incident. SMPP held a tahlil prayer for the victims last night, and will be performing solat jenazah ghaib before they are flown to Bangladesh,” it said yesterday.

Two Bangladeshi workers were killed after stored concrete blocks fell on them at a ready-mix concrete plant in Al Hidd Industrial area of Bahrain on Thursday, the Daily Star reports.
